Mary Ellen Lowry, CNM, CLC, MSN
Mary Ellen is a native of Raleigh, NC. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from Lenior-Rhyne College in 1995. Mary Ellen worked as a nurse at Frye Regional Hospital in women’s health including the special care nursery, labor and delivery, and as a certified lactation consultant.
She attended State University of New York @ Stony Brook and graduated in 2002 with a MS in Midwifery and has worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife with Women’s Care Specialists in Lenoir, NC and the midwives’ practice at Duke University prior to joining DWC in 2008.
Mary Ellen Lowry’s philosophy of midwifery grew out of the birth to each of her four children. She believes birth should be an empowering life event. She loves seeing patient for their prenatal care and then continuing to see them for their well-women care for the many years that follow.
Her children and nine grandchildren are her greatest accomplishments.
