Weight loss management at durham women’s clinic
At Durham Women’s Clinic we believe in body positivity and embracing your body at every age, stage, and size. This isn’t a “diet” and it’s not about your jean size… it’s about your physical and emotional well-being. It’s about achieving and maintaining a weight that allows you to live a more engaged, active, and healthier life. It’s about decreasing your risks for disease and becoming the best version of yourself. This is about changing lifestyle habits and thinking about your relationship with food, exercise and mindfulness to improve your overall health.

Meet Michele Kessler
A native of Rochester, NY, Michele received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany. She graduated cum laude as a Physician Assistant from The George Washington School of Medicine in 1995. She practiced in New York City, Washington DC, and Philadelphia before settling in Durham. Her special interests are adolescent medicine, obstetrics, and weight management. She is also a certified Centering Pregnancy Facilitator and has been a team member of Durham Women’s Clinic since 2005. Michele is also fluent in Spanish.
Michele Kessler became interested in weight loss after she had multiple patients with weight management concerns about being told to just eat less and move more. Michele wants to empower women to be able to live within their lifestyle and feel comfortable and confident about themselves in a non-judgmental and non-shaming environment. Michele is trained by the OMA (Obesity Medicine Association).
